Meet Silo City Farms Popcorn, grown just north of our farm in Decatur, Michigan. This yellow popcorn is hand-harvested from a small, carefully tended field, part of a farm stepping outside the usual rotation to grow something a little different.
The family at Silo City Farms planted their first small popcorn patch in 2023, simply to try something outside their usual rotation. What started as a small experiment turned into a full field by 2025, after a year of learning and planning. By sourcing and sharing their popcorn, we’re helping support that kind of growth and keep more food moving through our local system, right here close to home.
A few simple notes to get the most out of it:
- Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place. A cupboard works well. Avoid the fridge or freezer.
- After Opening: Store in a sealed bag or airtight container. The resealable bag it comes in works great when fully closed.
- Freshness: Popcorn keeps well, but is best within the first year after opening.
- Naturally Non-GMO & Whole Grain: Popcorn is naturally both, just as it is.
