Detroit People's Food Co-op

The Detroit People's Food Co-op, opening May 1, 2024, is a Black-led, community-owned grocery store located in the North End of Detroit. It offers affordable, locally sourced, and culturally relevant food while supporting local farmers and economic empowerment in the neighborhood. It's part of the larger Detroit Food Commons project, which includes educational programs and community events. The co-op has over 2,500 members but is open to everyone, with no membership required to shop​.
