A Letter From Your Farmer

The Christmas tree lights cast a soft glow in the night sky as snowflakes

float on the wind, silently falling to the ground. The mistletoe and

stockings are hung, and the gifts are wrapped. Hot Cocoa and cookies

await Santa’s arrival. A peace and calm settles over me as Christmas

carols fill the night air with Jingle Bells, and Silent Night.

Reflecting on all the different ways that God has blessed me, calms my

heart. He sent a baby from heaven to a stable of hay to be the King of

the world. A Savior to love us, care for us, and bring peace to this

world. When the noise of this world starts to overwhelm me, I am

reminded to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. Only He can give the peace

and calm that my heart desires. I hope that this Christmas season will

be full of peace and calm for you, your family, and friends.

Market season has ended. The drops have begun. We have traded the

chaos of summer, for the challenge of winter. None of this would be

possible without you. We have been blessed with great people, You!

You posses a passion for good food, and make a commitment to

Jake’s, for which we are forever grateful and humbled.

We want to thank you for a great 2022 season while looking forward to 2023.

As you celebrate this Christmas with family and friends, may you know

the Joy, Peace, and Love that God gives to each of us.

Merry Christmas!

Lou Ann Robinson (your 6th generation farmer)

What does "Pasture-Raised" Mean?

What does “pasture-raised” actually mean? It’s a question we hear often—and for good reason. Food labels can be confusing, and not all of them mean what they sound like. But for us, pasture-raised isn’t just a label. It’s the foundation of how we farm. In this post, we’re digging into what pasture-raised looks like on our farm, why it matters for animal welfare, soil health, and nutrition, and how it fits into our larger commitment to regenerative practices and real food.

Mother's Day Reflections

Mother’s Day has come and gone, but the memories it stirs often linger a little longer. This week, Renee found herself reflecting on the early days of farm life and the quiet strength her mom carried through it all. In her latest blog, she shares vivid memories of riding through the fields, watching her mom care for animals with grit, tenderness, and a kind of courage that shaped everything that followed.

May Farm Update

Spring is in full swing here on the farm, and we’re busy with all the seasonal work—planting seeds, harvesting chickens, and welcoming new piglets and lambs. We’ve also made some updates to our turkey program and are preparing for a busy farmers market season. There’s a lot happening, and we’re grateful to have you along for the journey.
