New Year, New Word

It was two days after Christmas, and I was ready to welcome the New Year. I felt brand new and energized, which never happens to me right after a Holiday. I removed ornaments, ribbon and lights from our Christmas trees and took them down to be stored until next season. I swept away all of the clutter left behind from curious kids exploring new gifts. I felt surprisingly excited for a productive week on the farm. I had plans to finish my farm bookwork, give our website a fresh new look, create meat bundles, and write a newsletter.

In The News

We were so excited to welcome our friends at Edible Michiana to the farm. They listened to our story with open ears, and open hearts. We have been advertising in Edible Michiana for many years, and were honored to be featured in their Holiday winter issue 2022. The title of this issue is Heritage - perfectly suited for our farm.

Christmas On The Farm

Christmas on the farm is special. Every year we look forward to the same traditions we’ve all experienced as kids, now enjoying them as parents. I will say, being a parent brings an entirely new perspective; holiday magic turns quickly into work. Yet, through tired eyes I still appreciate the magic of the season.

Christmas Eve Tidings

A Letter From Your Farmer The Christmas tree lights cast a soft glow in the night sky as snowflakes float on the wind, silently falling to the ground. The mistletoe and stockings are hung, and the gifts are wrapped.

Baling Cornstalks

We finally finished harvesting our Fall crops last week. Now, our team is busy cutting, raking, and baling the cornstalks that the combine left behind in the field. These large bales will be used as bedding within shelters, bedding that keeps our pigs dry and warm during the winter.

Pasture-Raised Poultry

Birds on our farm have the ability to live life in their natural habitat. They fertilize the ground while foraging for bugs, and eating fresh grass in the pasture.

Turkey Week

Turkey week. Good ol’ turkey week. We raise, harvest, sort and invoice for these birds once a year.
